As any Douglas Adams fan will tell you, Vogon poetry is of course the third-worst in the Universe. So I tried writing some Vogon poetry of my own; the result is up on Paul Vermeersch's Sunrise with Sea Monsters blog, where poets respond to the Turner painting of the same name.
New Poetry Book Accepted for Publication
My fourth poetry book, tentatively titled Pressure Systems, has been accepted for publication with Buckrider Books, Paul Vermeersch's poetry and fiction imprint at Wolsak & Wynn. The book is a collection of terminals based on Canadian poems. Look for it in fall 2018!

Maritime Tour Wraps; Saint John Recap
Earlier this month, Goose Lane Editions and UNB sent me on a phenomenal, if exhausting, tour of Montreal and the Maritimes, with stops at the Atwater Poetry Project, the legendary Fredericton Poetry Weekend, the Saint Mary's University Reading Series, and the Lorenzo Reading Series. The latter event, in Saint John with the great Ali Blythe, has been beautifully recapped by Katrina Pridgeon at The Baron.
Montreal Poetry Prize Shortlist
"Shards," from a book-length sonnet project I'm working on, is on the shortlist for the 2015 Montreal Poetry Prize. Read it and the other finalists here. Boneshaker Anthology available from Teksteditions
The Boneshaker Anthology: 2010-2013, featuring many terrific writers who have appeared at the Toronto Public Library's Boneshaker Reading Series, is now available for purchase here. Editor and series host Lillian Nećakov has assembled work from a dizzying array of contributors, including Carey Toane, Stuart Ross, Gary Barwin, Emily Schultz, A.F. Moritz, and Beatrice Hausner, and has also included three selections from Water Damage.
Emberton Longlisted for Sunburst Award
The Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic has announced its 2015 longlist, and Emberton has made the cut. Several formidable titles also appear on the list; it's excellent company!
